Description

Wilwood 140-16847-DR is a front big-brake kit with red six-piston FNSL6R calipers and 12.88-inch drilled/slotted Spec-37 iron rotors for the manufacturer-listed Civic/CR-Z applications.

Application and compatibility

Wilwood specifies the Civic application with an original-equipment 57 mm-piston caliper. DS-1508 covers the listed Civic and 2011–2015 CR-Z hubs. Wheel and hub compatibility follow its application and clearance diagrams; at least 0.080 inch of wheel-to-caliper clearance is required. The Civic application requires the manufacturer-listed hub and OE 57 mm-piston-caliper configuration.

• Supporting modifications required:
  • Supplied 220-12016 hoses replace the OE hose connection; no separate hose purchase is indicated by the kit manual.
  • Supply suitable brake fluid, red Loctite 271 and the pipe-thread sealing material specified in DS-1508.
• Civic uses its factory line/ABS bracket; the through-hole may need enlargement for the M10 hose fitting. CR-Z requires a new 0.315-in hole in supplied hose brackets. Set caliper alignment/pad height with the supplied shims, route hoses with full suspension clearance, then bleed, test and bed the brakes using DS-1508.
