- Inspect the filter and all connections regularly. Clean and re-oil the cotton element with the K&N service products specified for this filter; dusty conditions can require earlier service. Follow the part-specific instructions, including sensor, hose and factory-hardware transfer steps. Recheck clearances and fasteners after installation. Transfer the factory MAF sensor, rear airbox grommet and fresh-air duct. Fit the supplied MAF sleeve and edge trim as instructed; check clearances, air leaks and clamp alignment. Inspect the filter about every 25,000 miles and clean/re-oil by 100,000 miles under normal highway conditions, or sooner in dust. Power and torque figures are K&N estimates from its test vehicle; results vary with the vehicle and configuration.
